Make sure your party is fully stocked for Super Bowl Sunday
Even if you don’t give a damn about the Super Bowl, it’s a universal truth that the Super Bowl is a great excuse to drink and eat. Wings, nachos, burgers, chips, and beer; It really doesn’t get any better than that, does it? If you’re throwing your own party this year or just attending someone else’s, you’re going to need some boozy delights to keep spirits high throughout the game. Below are two hassle free punch bowl recipes that you can prep the night before. And sample the night before too, because you gotta taste it, right?
Crafted by Flinn Pomroy, Sweetwater Social
What You Need:
125 oz Jägermeister
42.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
37.5 oz Ginger Syrup
35 oz Bigelow Orange & Spice Tea
60 oz Soda Water (add to taste)
2 whole oranges sliced into thin discs (to garnish)
How To Make It:
Combine Jägermeister, Lime Juice, and Ginger Syrup in punch bowl. Bring 5 cups of water to a boil and add 5 tea bags of Bigelow Orange & Spice. Remove water from heat and allow to steep for roughly 6 minutes (Note: you will have more tea brewed than you are actually going to use). Add Bigelow Orange & Spice tea to the punch bowl. Stir vigorously, and add soda to taste. Garnish with orange slices.
Pairs Well With: Smoky, spice-forward barbecue sauce or wings which will bring out the spices in the Bigelow Orange & Spice Tea.
Peach Lemonade Punch
Crafted by Nolet’s Gin
What You Need:
1 bottle of Nolet’s Silver Dry Gin
2.25 L Lemonade
6.3 oz Elderflower Liqueur
2 bags frozen peaches, cut appropriately
Lemon or peach slices (to garnish)
How To Make It:
Combine all ingredients in punch bowl and stir. Serve over ice in a highball glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge or peach wedge.
Pairs Well With:
Anything spicy, such as nachos or buffalo chicken dip. The sweeter notes from the Elderflower Liqueur and peaches will help soothe the burn.
Don’t have time to stock up on booze for the big party? We live in an age where there are tons of services that will deliver right to your door. We did some research and found three great services that can help you out in a pinch.
If you’re looking to seriously amp up your home bar, we recommend Minibar Delivery. We were very impressed with their selection of wine, beer, mixers, and premium liquors. They promise a speedy delivery rain or shine (30-60 minutes, to be precise) to 40 different cities throughout the country. Plus, they’ll give you $5 off your first order when you join their email list. To make your life even easier, they have a handy party planning tool that can help you calculate how much alcohol you need based on the length of the party and how many people are attending. If you’re feeling really fancy, you can even schedule a professional mixologist to serve your party. All you have to do is choose how long and confirm the details.
If you need to stock up on booze, food, and paper goods for your party we suggest MaxDelivery. Unlike supermarket delivery services which require you to place an order ahead of time (who really has time for that?), MaxDelivery will deliver items to your door in under one hour. Delivery is free over $125, and they service Manhattan (below 92nd Street and south), Roosevelt Island, and parts of Long Island City. Pro Tip: you can type in your zip code here to see if they deliver to your area. They boast a wide array of wine, beer, and liquor so you can get everything from Patron and Cointreau to Tozai’s “Well of Wisdom” Sake.
Additionally, Amazon Prime now offers two-hour alcohol delivery in 12 different cities. If you’re in desperate need of more libations, you can shell out $8.00 to have your booze delivered within an hour. Their selection is also quite impressive, as they offer artisan wines, craft beer, and premium liquor all in one place. They even have bottle gift bags, a 7-piece Whiskey Decanter Set, and an OXO Jigger that you can add to your order. It eliminates the need to do any party shopping in a brick-and-mortar store, which saves you time and energy.
